How To Administer Hgh In Children
Since children are in a more critical phase in their lives, they have to be taken care of properly. You should not leave them treating themselves of their body conditions. Make sure you do your role as a parent or a guardian, thus, HGH in children should be properly administered.
Human growth hormone need to be injected for it to work well in the body. If it is given as a pill, it would be broken down in the stomach and digested, before it reaches the blood stream. Proper training and practice is needed so that you can administer the HGH injection in children. There are four basic steps required to administer HGH injection namely preparation, site selection, injection, and disposal.
Preparing the Injection
In administering HGH injection, you need to prepare the needles and syringe you will use for injection. You need to have a long and short needle. The long needle is used to prepare the HGH-sodium chloride mixture and the shorter one to inject. It is very important that you use new needles only. You also need alcohol swabs to clean the injection site, as well as to clean the vial tops before beginning the mixing procedure.
You need a clean place with enough lighting so that you can work without disturbance. Take note that before you start everything that you will need in preparing for injection your hands are properly washed with soap and warm water. The best time to administer the injection is before going to bed because there are more growth hormones secreted at night than during the day.
Site Selection
In administering HGH injection you have to select a better site. The most common sites for injection are the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, and arms. These sites have the right muscle to absorb the medicine and the patient will suffer less pain.
Injection Process
You may use either hands depending on which is more comfortable to you. Squeeze a certain fold of the skin and hold it up, then place the injection to the skin fold quickly. Insert the whole needle on a slightly bended stance (usually characterized as a perpendicular line in geometry) to the skin, and keep it there. Make sure that the injection process itself is at a slow pace but the needle removal should be fast.
Disposal
Do not use the same needle to a different patient and be sure to dispose properly the used needle and syringe, for hygienic purposes. If a child has been diagnosed of having a HGH deficiency, the treatment plan will be prepared. This is usually done by giving the child an HGH injection. The dosage of injection will depend on the severity of the child’s deficiency. They may be given up to four times a week, while other children may require as many injections every day in order to achieve positive results from treatment.
